“The Lord said to Moses, "Bring the tribe of Levi & present them to Aaron the priest to assist him. They are to perform duties for him & for the whole community at the tent of meeting by doing the work of the tabernacle."
~Numbers 3:5-7
“This passage makes the point that not all the Levites were priests but only the members of the family of Aaron. In this context bring near is a sacrificial word, & signifies the presenting of an offering to the Lord, in this case the "offering" being the tribe of Levi which was entirely given up to the service of the sanctuary, to be no longer their own, but the Lord's”
See this note on New Testament believers in 1 Cor 6:19-20 “Now believers are to bring (themselves) near" (so to speak) as a sacrificial offering. Paul describes this in Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present () paristemi = stand near) your bodies a living & holy sacrifice, acceptable (pleasing) to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 & do not be conformed (present imperative w/ a negative see our need to depend on the Holy Spirit to obey) to this world, but be transformed (present imperative see our need to depend on the Holy Spirit to obey) by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good & acceptable & perfect."
Keep in mind that Paul also teaches us in chapter 3 of Romans that works do not save us. They are free will love offerings that as the Apostle James points out in James chapter 2; that show our faith & help us to exercise it, like walking & cycling exercises our physical muscles. We see by comparing these sections together that we are called to bring ourselves to God as love commands, we exercise our saving faith by serving God & others, but these acts are not what saves us. Only faith in Jesus can do that. See John 3:16-18; 14:6,7.
May today be a renewal of your love offering to The LORD.
