“But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept.”
~Genesis 33:4
In the 20 years Jacob has been away God has been working in Esau's heart as well.
Now when God sends Jacob back Esau is ready to forgive and forget. Both men are moved to tears at the reunion.
In many respects these to men are each a prodigal. And each have come home.
We are never told what changed Esau's heart but God know and used the circumstances of his life to cause him to accept his brother with open arms and tbe kiss of family.
I encourage you to remember we serve tbe Good Shepherd who leaves the 99 to search for your 1.
"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn't he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."
