"So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her."
~Genesis 29:20
Love binds two people together in beautiful ways. It can make time fly.
We are told that God created time when we read Genesis 1:1 “In tbe beginning God created...” God made the beginning. So He created time.
We are told to that He exists outside of time. "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. " 2 Peter 3:8
Why do I mention this?
Because God's love for us is even stronger and more pure than Jacob's love for Rachel.
God is waiting for the perfect time to act and cleanse the earth. Waiting to tell Jesus to bring His bride home.
From our side it seems slow. The Apostle Peter wrote those words over thousand years ago. And that is like 2 days to God.
The apostle wrote in tbe next verse this encouragement. “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2Pet 3:9
Everyone includes you!
So reread todays verse like this: '"So Jesus years to get me, but they seemed like only a few days to Him because of His love for me.'
And know that while time is ticking God had not forgotten you and is only waiting for that last person who will repent to repent. Who can you lead to find this love we share?
